Channel Manager CHANNEL MANAGER

Responsibilities:

Demonstrate ability to excel within a cross-functional team environment. Create/execute a territory and/or account business plan focused on resale activity in the networking market
Plan sales program strategies and propose tactics to increase sales and awareness within the channel community
Support and leverage other channel efforts, field marketing, product launches, product promotions, tele-business, and other lead or sales generating programs
Experience with sales in a multiple distribution channel business is essential
Proof of creative efforts and leading sales people, managing budgets and timelines must be provided
Candidate should exhibit strong strategic thinking, initiative and leadership skills.
This position may be a team leader to local or remote channels sales individuals and responsible for the cumulative quota of all team members
This position is also responsible for assistance in development of personal and career development plans of sales team members
Estimated 40% travel


Requirements:

§ Requires a minimum BA degree in a technical discipline or equivalent and 5 years sales experience in a fast-growth, high technology company

§ Strong selling skills in major accounts/territory is essential

§ Self-starter and strong closer, with multi-tasking ability

§ Understanding of large business organizations and their buying cycles is required

§ Experience selling in a high technology and networking industry and knowledge of LAN and/or WAN networks is required

§ Must have experience in selling TCP/IP or SNA networking products. Knowledge of Ethernet, X.25, Token Ring, FDDI, IPX, and other protocols is desired. Excellent negotiation and closing skills are a must

§ Requires practical experience using influence management to achieve goals

§ General understanding of legal contracts

§ Prior management experience desirable
